The time required for floor sanding and polishing depends on several factors, such as the size of the area, the floor’s condition, and the number of coats applied. On average, the process typically takes about 3 to 4 days to complete.

Three coats of your chosen finish are applied to the floor following the manufacturer’s recommendations. Between each coat, light sanding is performed to ensure a smooth surface and reduce any contaminants in the finish.

Yes, a variety of colors are available to choose from. Floors can be stained directly on the timber for a darker, richer finish, or a stain can be added during the coating process to achieve a tinted effect. Please note that staining may increase both the duration and cost of the project.

Sanding machines can be quite loud, so it’s best to avoid the work area during the process. Additionally, some finishes have a strong odor and may require alternative sleeping arrangements. For solvent-based finishes, staying in the house during application is not recommended. Consider our environmentally friendly waterborne finishes as a safer, low-odor alternative — feel free to ask us for more details!
